I look for honesty when I do car repairs these people are clearly dishonest again does this say they cannot do the repairs does this mean they can not do a 100 percent perfect job no it doesn’t it just means they are diss honest and they are ripping you off
Stacy was very friendly and accommodating. Smith Brothers diagnosed my issue and got my truck repair done in a day and a half.
Wow so I went in and got a appraisal estimate whatever you want to call it. Price came to 1100 paid upfront for the diagnosis when the car repair was started it immediately became almost 3000 I told them in the very beginning I was not going to invest over a certain amount of money so they did a half assed diagnosis try to get my car apart so that I could not back out of the deal the woman in charge the boss is very arrogant and set this up from day one with me she just kept the price under the price I told her I wouldn’t go over knowing that later on it would be more very dishonest person very dishonest business I don’t care what any other reviews say these people are absolute trash when I went to pick up the car she was very angry that her purse and had to reassemble the transmission and therefore charge me 200 Dollars because she already had my money in hand I would never go to Smith brothers and I would never suggest anybody go to Smith brothers I’m not seeing the work isn’t capable I’m saying the dishonesty isn’t there and arrogance is right there in your face.
The person had work done at computech in norwich and they were very happy! They asked for a referral from me for a repair shop I immediately discredited smith brothers and suggested computech. If smith brothers was not deceiving trying to get business by misleading me and had been upfront with a real diagnosis from day 1 (like computech was with my buyer he knew full diagnosis on day 2) I would have referred to them so in the end though I wasn’t your customer the car still could have been.
The owner is still dishonest in my eyes and should balance her customer relationships.
They were flexible with what they could do based on my budget ("Hey we can do option X vs option Y if you don't want that particular service done right now"). I did not feel pushed. As far as costs: I always wince when I see labor costs, but I felt the price I was charged was reasonable!
I did sell the car only taking the 300$ hit from smith brothers bill$
Very nice people to work with. Did a fantastic job on my truck. I would not hesitate to use them again if I had to.
They came very highly recommended by someone else that had their vehicle serviced by them so I drove 45 minutes to have my front differential rebuilt. At first it came out great and I was super happy. Then a leak started so I made an appointment and dropped it off. Another 45 minute trip each way with a ride following me. 2 days later I find out they can't get to my truck that week so I picked it back up. Another month went by and finally got another appointment and dropped it off again. 3 days later and the truck which is my ONLY vehicle was still not fixed and was told that the wrong parts were delivered but the truck was never disassembled to see that it was the wrong part. As of now I have 3 seals leaking and they were supposed to call me back a week ago and no phone call. I was told that seals leak for a reason and that there must be something wrong with the truck when I specifically told them originally to go through the truck to make sure there was nothing else wrong with it. Apparently they don't stand behind their work and I will be filing a complaint with CT department of consumer protection, the attorney generals office and the BBB. I'm a retired technician of 20+ years and you should stand behind what you do and in a very timely manner.
The price I was quoted in the end by smith brothers was a good price I am changing my review from a 1 to a 2 because the quoted price I thought was inflated and it wasn’t!
