Tried to make me pay to fix brakes before the would do emissions because they felt unsafe driving it into the bay. Been driving with these brakes for 6 months. what a joke, I drove around the place for 10 minutes braking hard and honking, probably worse place I've ever been. This was after waiting 2 hours. place is a scam, go to a mom and pops joint for anything important, just another main business chain trying to hustle you. Should be investigated by the better business bureau for fraud.
If you've got a similar emissions/DMV errand, you can't do better than Firestone in Norwich for the emissions portion. DMV, well bring your patience as it took me the better part of 2-hours for that portion.
The workers here are very helpful and happy to provide discounted service rates... and fast, too; I was done in less than half an hour.
The emissions test and VIN verification could not have gone more smoothly, and even though there were several customers ahead of me in line, I was able to get in and out in less than 20-minutes. The coffee was great and the service folks were polite and professional. This worked out beautifully as our next stop was the Norwich DMV right down the street where I registered the vehicle and transferred my plates.

I visited Firestone for an emissions test and VIN verification immediately after purchasing a used car from an out-of-state private seller. I was far from my home area, as I live near New Haven, but since this was a MA seller, this was a good halfway meeting point.
Had my truck brought in here on Sunday for brake failure. Tuesday, I called them up to find out if the problem was an easily fixable (and affordable) one. The manager told me that they hadn't even had it on the lift yet. Since they had had it for over 48 hours without looking at it, he flat out told me that there would be no charge for the inspection (normally $120). On Wednesday morning, he called me and let me know the severity of the damages (bare minimum of $1200 on a 17 year old pickup, but most likely would have been more). I informed him that the salvage yard would pick it up first thing the next day. Not only was I not charged for the inspection, I wasn't charged for the four days of storage. Will definitely be bringing my next vehicle here.
